Ya’at’eeh! Hello! I’m the creator of Air & Fire Designs. I wanted to create a positive outlet of natural beauty for everyone to wear and enjoy! I live, create, and enjoy life living off the grid in the vast desert of the Navajo Reservation. Happiness comes from my family, my pets and waking up under beautiful skies every day! I travel many miles to sell direct at various locations to have an opportunity to meet people from all walks of life and let them become part of what I create! I give thanks and appreciation to my late mother who taught me how to ‘string’ and launch a gratifying business that allows me to pour my artistic energies into beautiful and contemporary jewelry! All my creations are one of a kind, showered with positive energy, and created just for you!

Thank you for stopping by Air & Fire Designs! Your support is greatly appreciated!

Mat Yellowhorse aka Mad Mat

Hi. My name is Mat Yellowhorse! I am a father, husband, roofer, builder, and an artist.  Creating jewelry is one way for me to share with people my talents and beliefs. My inspiration comes from my surroundings, my experiences in life, and my family. As a builder and tradesman of many construction disciplines, I love to stand back and admire what has been physically built. In a way I feel like the building, be it roofing, drywall, framing, concrete, finish work, when all brought together create something beautiful, sustainable, and usable. It took me a long time to get to where I am and now, I enjoy every aspect of constructing. Just like the buildings I construct the pipes I make are beautiful, sustainable, and usable. The clay comes from Laguna, NM and is all natural and nontoxic. Mad Mats Pit Fired Pipes are just that. They are pipes I make, fired in a pit I dug, using sawdust collected from a flute maker. This technique is as old as time. Ever since I started making clay pipes, I have never needed to buy another one. I hope you enjoy my product as much as I do.
